With an undying love for David Bowie and Nick Cave, Scott brings a lyrical priority to his music.
"I consider myself first and foremost a lyricist. That's my driving force when I write a song. Language is such a fascinating tool. It can tell stories, it can emote, it can be poetic.
"If there appears to be a meloncholia to my music, it is purely to free myself up and maximize both the lyrical and musical language at my disposal. If you set out explicitly to write a catchy pop song, you're instantly limiting yourself in the words you can use, the chord progressions... Or maybe I just find it more difficult...
The debut single, 'The Blinding Light Within Your Eyes', sees Scott recording his own music for the first time, having fronted David Bowie tribute band The Thin White Duke for 4 years.
"That really taught me a thing or two about performance. The power of performance. You don't have to be the world's greatest singer, guitarist or whatever. You just have to sell it. It's all just acting."
